The SEC today launched a website for their Office of the Whistleblower. The site includes links to important legislation or documents, such as the Dodd-Frank Statute creating the Office and the SEC’s final rules for said statute’s implementation. More vitally though, the website attempts to simplify and streamline a tip process that had previously been disorderly and complicated.
Potential whistleblowers will instantly have access to necessary forms (TCR and WB-APP) required for submitting a claim and receiving a reward, and will be directed towards the Office’s tips, complaints, and referrals questionnaire in an effort to discern the legitimacy of individual claims. In addition, the website provides answers to frequently asked questions as well as archived remarks and articles relating to the Commission’s whistleblower policies.
