Job Placement Company Investigated by NYC, Manhattan US Attorney

The U.S. Attorney’s Office in Manhattan issued a Civil Investigative Demand to Structured Employment Economic Development Corporation (Seedco), an organization that has had a contract with the New York City Department of Small Business Services to operate career centers in Manhattan and the Bronx.  Seedco is already under investigation by the New York City Department of Investigation due to concerns regarding the accuracy of the company’s job placement statistics.  Employees have alleged that the company listed prior employment by job seekers as obtained through Seedco and fabricated job placements.

Seedco, a nationwide company, has received $41.8 million in federal, state, and local funding for job placement services.
