A former employee filed a complaint against Northrop Grumman, accusing the engineering giant of repeatedly making false reports and certifications to the US Postal Service (USPS) under a 2007 contract for the supply of 100 Flats Sequencing Systems (FSS) sorting machines. According to the complaint, Northrop materially misrepresented the speed, reliability, accuracy, and efficiency of the FSS machines, and deliberately concealed documents that showed FSS machines to be below the contract standards.
Northrop and USPS are currently involved in a separate, 18-month legal battle over the same FSS contract.
