New York City has agreed to pay $1.375 million to settle a False Claims Act case alleging that the NYC Department of Education billed Medicaid for services that were not provided. According to the allegations, the NYC Department of Education billed Medicaid for bimonthly counseling sessions for special education students, but failed to provide those services. The suit was filed by a NYC school counselor.
