A bill to expand the Louisiana False Claims Act was recently introduced by Louisiana state Rep. Raymond Crews (R-Bossier City). The proposed legislation, House Bill 97, would allow whistleblowers to file an action against companies that defraud the state of Louisiana in areas other than Medicaid fraud – which current state law allows.
