Kentucky Speaker Introduces FCA

The Speaker of the Kentucky House of Representatives, Greg Stumbo, has introduced legislation which would create a state False Claims Act.  The bill closely mirrors the federal False Claims Act and includes treble damages and rewards for whistleblowers of 15 to 30 percent the amount collected.

The Speaker pointed out that other states have recovered substantial amounts of money as a result of False Claims Acts.  Including the federal FCA, such acts have recovered over $25 billion nationwide.
