Nico Gurian

Nico Gurian is an associate at Getnick & Getnick LLP, where he is actively involved in the firm’s whistleblower, anti-fraud litigation, and business integrity practices.  Prior to joining the firm, Mr. Gurian served as a law clerk to the Honorable Nicholas G. Garaufis of the United States District Court for the Eastern District of New York and as a trial advocacy fellow at the nationally recognized plaintiffs’ trial firm, Koskoff Koskoff & Bieder.

Mr. Gurian received his B.A. from Columbia College, Columbia University, graduating Phi Beta Kappa and magna cum laude, and his J.D. from Columbia Law School. At law school, Mr. Gurian was a James Kent Scholar for academic excellence, Executive Articles Editor of the Columbia Journal of Law and Social Problems, and winner of the Lawrence S. Greenberg Prize, which is awarded to the best oral advocate in the final round of the annual Harlan Fiske Stone Moot Court, as determined by a panel of sitting federal circuit court judges.

Mr. Gurian is an active member of several professional associations, including Taxpayers Against Fraud Education Fund (TAFEF), a public interest non-profit organization dedicated to fighting fraud against the government by working to protect whistleblowers and strengthen whistleblower laws.  He is also a member of the New York City Bar Association, where he serves as a member of the New York City Affairs Committee, the New York State Bar Association, and the Federal Bar Council.

He is admitted in New York and Connecticut, as well as the following courts: U.S. Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit, U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York, U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of New York, U.S. District Court for the District of Connecticut.
