Waste Disposal
In February 2000, Getnick & Getnick LLP was appointed by the New York City Trade Waste Commission as a Monitor for a private carting company licensed to operate a trade waste collection, removal or disposal business in New York City.
Pursuant to the licensing order, the Monitor was authorized to monitor and investigate all aspects of the carter’s business and operations. A large portion of the company’s business consisted of construction and demolition work, in addition to waste collection and removal, adding to the complexity of the Monitor’s task.
The Monitor performed the traditional functions of reviewing and evaluating the company’s business and accounting systems and records, in addition to interviewing customers and employees, and conducting field and site visits to investigate particular issues and areas of concern.
